The Russian military base in Tajikistan has been put on high security alert after reports about the arrest of militants from the Islamic State organization (IS, a terrorist group banned in Russia) who allegedly planned to carry out a terrorist attack at the entrance to the base, deputy base commander Vladimir Aleksandrov told Sputnik on Monday.
"We have not yet received any information from the Tajik security services, but after reading the online reports, the commander of the base issued an order to put the base on high alert. An investigation is underway. The results will be reported on Tuesday morning," the officer said.
