The presidential runoff in Ukraine was peaceful, orderly and the election was competitive, Rebecca Harms, Head of the European Parliament's delegation, said Monday
The runoff took place on Sunday. Volodymyr Zelenskiy is winning over incumbent President Petro Poroshenko, the preliminary results indicate.
"I would really full-heartedly like to congratulate citizens of Ukraine for their deep commitment to democracy, demonstrated in competitive elections, in which they had really a free choice ... The election was conducted in a peaceful and orderly fashion, paving the way for a democratic transition of power in the presidency," Harms told a press conference.
