Waqf Burj Al Khair Supports ERC, Sandooq Al Watan

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 05th Jun, 2018) Waqf Burj Al Khair in Abu Dhabi donated AED2 million to support the programmes of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and Sandooq Al Watan, on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.
Dr. Hamdan Mussalam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the board of Directors of the ERC and Supervisor of Waqf Burj Al Khair, presented a cheque worth AED1 million to Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Deputy Secretary-General for Local Affairs, to support the ERC’s humanitarian and development programmes. He presented another cheque worth AED1 million to Mohammed Al Qadi, Director of Sandooq Al Watan, to support the fund’s objectives and increase its resources.
Waqf Burj Al Khair organised various events during Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which included activities and words of praise for the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Dr. Al Mazrouei stated that the donation reflects the efforts between the ERC and Sandooq Al Watan during Zayed Humanitarian Work Day and the Year of Zayed.
He added that the solidarity shown during the day’s events is a national humanitarian duty, and a commitment to the vision of the wise leadership, who allocated the day to commemorate the memory of Sheikh Zayed and his legacy of rescuing needy people, as well as to promote the UAE’s leading role in supporting communities suffering from dire conditions.
The UAE and its wise leadership also aim to promote charity endowments among community members, he said in conclusion.
