SMIU Wants VC Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh Be Nominated For Civil Award

The Syndicate of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU), in a unanimously passed resolution, has requested the government to nominate Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of SMIU, for the Civil Award of Pakistan due to his services rendered particularly for Sindh Madressatul Islam, the Alma-Mater of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and generally for modern and quality education in the country
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jan, 2018 ) :The Syndicate of Sindh Madressatul islam University (SMIU), in a unanimously passed resolution, has requested the government to nominate Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of SMIU, for the Civil Award of Pakistan due to his services rendered particularly for Sindh Madressatul Islam, the Alma-Mater of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and generally for modern and quality education in the country.
A spokesman for the institution said on Friday that this resolution was moved by Federal Ombudsman and member of SMIU's Syndicate, Salman Farooqui, in the 15th meeting of the Syndicate on Friday.
He said that other members who attended the meeting were former judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice (retd) Syed Deedar Hussain Shah, former Chief Justice of Shariat Court of Pakistan Justice (retd) Agha Rafique Ahmed Khan, nominee of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan Rahim Bux Channa, representative of Governor Sindh Prof.
Dr Abdul Rasheed, nominee of Secretary Education Mrs. Aziz Fatima Mangi, dean and elected members of SMIU and other members.
