Hajj Operation Going Smoothly; 12,058 Pakistani Pilgrims Reach

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th August, 2016) : The month long Hajj flight operation is going smoothly and so far 36 hajj flights carrying over 12,058 Pakistani pilgrims of both government and private Hajj scheme have reached Saudi Arabia from various cities of the country. An official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs told APP that the flights were departed from Peshawar,Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta and Sukkur.
The month-long pre Hajj flight operation would continue till September 5. He said the Ministry of Religious Affairs has ensured smooth functioning of hajj flights operation and taken precautionary measures to avoid any inconvenience.
He said the government had made extensive arrangements to make the pilgrimage easy, comfortable and hassle free. Main control rooms had been established in Makkah and Madina to extend maximum facilities to Pakistani pilgrims.
The intending pilgrims should immediately contact the control room, in case of any problem, as a number of doctors, paramedical staff and Hajj 'Mouavineen' (Assistants) have been deployed to facilitate them. During the pre-hajj operation PIA will operate more than 265 special and scheduled flights to Saudi Arabia from 10 cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sukkur, Multan and Rahim Yar Khan to transport more than 51,000 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. As many as 1,43,000 pilgrims are going to Saudi Arabia this year for performing Hajj under both the government and private schemes according to data of the ministry of Religious Affairs. Meanwhile, as many as 600,000 intending pilgrims from 42 countries would pray at the 'Roza' of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) before performing the sacred religious ceremony of Hajj.
