PFA discards 40kg unhygienic meat, 25kg expired food, other items

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2025) Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized and discarded 40 kg unwholesome

meat, 25 kg expired, substandard food and 20 litres adulterated milk in

the division.

PFA sources said on Monday that food safety teams conducted inspections

at various food outlets, including meat shops, restaurants, bakeries, milk

shops, and grocery stores, resulting in heavy fines and closing of food

outlets.

The inspections covered areas such as Multan, Vehari, Burewala, Mailsi,

Khanewal, Shujaabad, and Abdul Hakim.

A bakery in Wahdat colony, Vehari was ordered to shut down production

until improvements after expired biscuits were recovered and a washroom

was found within the production area.

A restaurant in WAPDA Town Phase-l, Multan was fined Rs 50,000 for

unhygienic and flies found in sauces.

Two milk shops in Peoples colony and Mumtazabad were fined Rs 33,000

for mixing water in milk.

A sweets and bakers outlet in Amjad Town, Burewala faced a Rs 25,000 fine

for poor production conditions.

A superstore in Defence Colony, Burewala was penalized Rs 15,000 for

stocking expired food items.

At Mana Morr, two meat shops were fined Rs 10,000 each for selling stale

and low-quality meat.

In Khanewal, a hotel was fined Rs. 40,000 after rotten vegetables were found

in the kitchen.

A restaurant in Mailsi was imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 for using harmful China

salt in food.

A pizza outlet near Football Chowk, College Road, was fined Rs 30,000 for

using expired sauces and foul-smelling vegetables.

In Abdul Hakim, a sweets shop was fined Rs 20,000 for keeping expired

confectionery items.
