Actor says feeling of loneliness intensifies when you’re unwell and away from your loved ones
KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 25th, 2025) Pakistani actress Amara Chaudhry has shared a deeply personal and distressing account of her experience living alone in Karachi, highlighting the emotional and physical challenges faced by individuals residing away from their families.
Speaking during a recent appearance on a private television show, Amara opened up about the loneliness that often accompanies those who move to big cities for work or education. She noted that a large number of young men and women live alone in cities like Karachi for various reasons, but solitude becomes especially difficult during times of illness or emotional stress.
“My family is based in Lahore, but I live in Karachi due to work commitments,” she said. “After returning from shoots, the silence and emptiness of the house become overwhelming.
The feeling intensifies when you’re unwell and away from your loved ones.”
Recalling a frightening episode from two years ago, the actress revealed that she had tested positive for COVID-19 while staying alone in Karachi. “A day after contracting the virus, I lost consciousness for an entire day. No one knew I was unwell. My family couldn’t reach me and became worried,” she said.
Amara said her family eventually contacted her landlord, who sent someone to check on her. “The knock at the door brought me back to consciousness. When I woke up, I saw dozens of missed calls from my family. They had even booked flight tickets to reach Karachi,” she added.
She further revealed that the landlord had initially assumed she had returned to Lahore and only knocked on her door after persistent requests from her family.
