LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct 14th, 2025) Pakistan lost four wickets in their second innings on the third day of the Lahore Test against South Africa, after gaining a first-innings lead of 109 runs.

Opening batter Imam-ul-Haq, who had scored 93 runs in the first innings, was dismissed early this time after being stumped off Simon Harmer while attempting to step out and block the ball. Captain Shan Masood, who made 76 in the first innings, could only add seven runs before being dismissed.

Pakistan’s third wicket fell at a total of 64 runs when Abdullah Shafique was dismissed for 41. Later, Babar Azam was caught after scoring 42 runs, with Pakistan reaching 119 for four by the end of play.

Earlier, South Africa were bowled out for 269 in their first innings, giving Pakistan a lead of 109 runs. The visitors had resumed play on day three at 216 for six while chasing Pakistan’s first-innings total of 378.

Tony de Zorzi started the day on 81 and Senuran Muthusamy on six. Muthusamy was dismissed early for 11 by Sajid Khan, followed by de Zorzi, who scored 104 before lofting a shot off Nauman Ali and being caught by Shaheen Afridi.

Kagiso Rabada was dismissed without scoring, while Muthusamy fell earlier to Sajid Khan after edging to slip fielder Salman Ali Agha.

Nauman Ali was the standout bowler for Pakistan, claiming six wickets, while Sajid Khan took three and Salman Ali Agha picked up one.

In Pakistan’s first innings, the team had posted a total of 378 runs, with Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha both contributing 93 runs each, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan scoring 75, and captain Shan Masood adding 76.
