Mohammad Haris-led Peshawar successfully defended the 256-run target as they restricted FATA to 238 all out in 68.5 overs with the help of pacer Mohammad Amir Khan’s 5-72 – his fourth first-class five-for - at the Abbottabad cricket Stadium.

Beginning the day at 51-2 and requiring 205 more runs to win, Fata slumped to 152-8 before Zahid Mehmood (42, 51b, 8x4s) and Mohammad Sarwar Afridi (40, 57b, 4x4s, 1x6) got together to put on 65 runs for the ninth wicket but in vain.

Fata also managed to add 21 runs for the last wicket but fell 17 runs short. No.3 batter Salman Khan Jnr top-scored with 73 off 127 balls hitting 10 fours.

Amir bagged seven wickets in the match, while he was aided by Iftikhar Ahmed (2-30) and Sufyan Moqim (2-32) in reining in FATA’s batters.

Faisalabad managed to bat out the day four and eked out a draw against Sialkot after being 38-2 at the start of play and 123 runs behind at the Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar.

No. 4 batter Atiq-ur-Rehman hit 143 off 179 balls striking 18 fours and one six and was helped by handy contributions from Muhammad Awais Zafar (59, 62b, 6x4s, 3x6s), Muhammad Irfan Khan (39, 69b, 4x4s, 1x6) and Ali Shan (32 not out, 88b, 2x4s) as Faisalabad got 185 runs ahead with four wickets intact before it was declared a draw.

At the Diamond Cricket Ground, Islamabad, Abbottabad managed to steal a draw after conceding a 135-run first innings deficit as they managed to stretch their second innings from overnight score of 35-3 to 377 all out in 78.3 overs.

No.6 batter Ahmed Khan (104, 148b, 11x4s, 3x6s) struck a match-saving century and together with Khalid Usman (71, 72b, 10x4s, 1x6) gathered 146 runs for the seventh wicket after Abbottabad were 176-6 and only 41 runs ahead.

Skipper Fakhar Zaman also chipped in with a 99-ball 81 hitting 10 fours and three sixes. For Lahore Whites, Mohammad Rameez Jnr picked up four wickets completing his third first-class haul of 10 wickets in a match.

Whites were 243 for chase in 18 remaining overs but they only faced three overs before the teams decided to shake hands.

The Islamabad v Bahawalpur fixture at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi ended in a stalemate after Bahawalpur’s first innings ended on 508 all out – a 33-run deficit – and in turn Islamabad scored 221-3 in 60 overs.

Islamabad’s opening batter Shamyl Hussain registered his third first-class century (123 not out, 175b, 12x4s, 2x6s) and also completed 1,000 first-class runs. He shared a 109-run stand for the third-wicket with Faizan Riaz (42, 97b, 5x4s) and a 75-run opening with Abdul Faseeh (35, 51b, 5x4s).

Earlier, Bahawalpur had resumed from 463-6 and added 45 runs to their score before getting bowled out in 139.4 overs.
