LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2025) At least nine people lost their lives and 61 others sustained injuries in various rain-related incidents across Punjab during the past 24 hours, as heavy downpours and windstorms lashed several parts of the province.

A Rescue 1122 spokesperson said on Monday that several incidents of roof, wall collapses and road accidents were reported from different districts.

In Lahore, a house roof collapsed in the Mohra Sharif area of Band Road, killing a 20-year-old man, Faisal, and injuring four others. Another similar incident in Manawan Jagian, Manga Mandi, left 12-year-old Rabia and 8-year-old Shehbaz among the injured.

In Minchinabad, Bahawalnagar, the roof of a seminary in Rasheed Kot collapsed, resulting in the deaths of two children, identified as 10-year-old Saifullah and 8-year-old Salman, while 12 others, including a teacher, were injured. The deceased and injured were shifted to the nearest healthcare facilities.

A fatal road accident occurred near the Chakri Interchange on Motorway M-2, where a passenger bus overturned due to a slippery road. Four persons, including a 50-year-old woman named Samina, lost their lives, while 22 others were injured.

The injured were shifted to DHQ Chakwal, DHQ Rawalpindi, and PIMS Hospital Islamabad.

In Muzaffargarh, a wall collapsed in Basti Sathyari, Jatoi, injuring one individual. In Chowk Sarwar Shaheed, Kot Addu, another person was injured when a hotel roof caved in.

In Okara, lightning strikes on Head Sulemanki Road, Naeemabad, claimed the lives of 16-year-old Anam and 17-year-old Asad.Meanwhile, roof collapses in Ghala Mandi (51/2-L), 46/D and Chak 06/4-L and Nooreki, Depalpur, injured a total of 12 individuals.

In Pakpattan, roof collapses in Chak 161-EB and Chak 147-EB, Arifwala, injured two people.

A van skidded off the road in Rajanpur’s Bangla Dhingan area on the Indus Highway, leaving one person injured.

In Sahiwal, two persons were injured due to a collapsing wooden roof in Chak 137/9-L, while two others were hurt when mud-built walls and roofs fell in Chak 08/11-L, Chichawatni, and Chak 64/15-L.

Rescue teams promptly responded, provided first aid on site, and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment, the spokesperson added.
