Le Pen's Party Says Macron Monopolizing Media Space Ahead Of European Parliament Elections

The French right-wing National Rally (RN) political party, headed by Marine Le Pen, said Saturday it requested the French media watchdog Conseil superieur de l'audiovisuel (CSA) to examine President Emmanuel Macron's alleged use of "the great national debate" as a campaign before the elections to the European Parliament
Macron's "great national debate" is a number of public meetings aimed at decreasing tensions amid yellow vest rallies.
"We went to the CSA to count the time of Macron's speeches [during the national debate] in the context of the campaign in the European elections .
.. I think that Macron is conducting an election campaign. He monopolizes the media space on information channels for six, seven, eight hours on a regular basis, creating a lot of chatter," the party's representative Jean-Lin Lacapelle said as quoted by the France Info radio station.
Large-scale protests erupted in France on November 17 in the wake of the government's decision to raise fuel prices and increase fuel tax. Even though the French authorities later scrapped their plans, the yellow vest protesters, dissatisfied with the government's social policies, continued to rally across the country.
