More than 1,000 Syrian refugees have returned to their home country from abroad over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said on Friday.
"Over the past day, a total of 1,023 people returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territory of foreign states: 352 people (105 women and 180 children) left Lebanon for Syria via the Jaydet-Yabus and Talkalakh crossing points, and 671 people (201 women and 342 children) from Jordan via the Nasib crossing point," the center said in a daily bulletin.
Since July 18, 2018, a total of 86,537 Syrians have returned to their home country from abroad, according to the bulletin.
"[The Syrian Armed Forces' engineering units] found and defused 32 explosive devices including one improvised explosive device," the bulletin added.
The Syrian government has already launched the post-war reconstruction process and started welcoming back tens of thousands of Syrians who were forced to seek asylum in other countries.
