DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th November, 2018) The Russian servicemen have delivered humanitarian aid to the people with disabilities in the Syrian capital of Damascus, the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria said on Sunday.
"We have conducted a humanitarian action in a specialized institute for the people with disabilities [in Damascus]. Within its framework, we donated wheelchairs, warm clothes and other basic necessities ... to the Syrian soldiers who took part in hostilities, as well as to the children who have became disabled during the war," the center's head Lt.
Gen. Vladimir Savchenko told reporters.
Syria has been engulfed in an armed conflict since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous armed opposition groups and terrorist organizations. Russia along with Turkey and Iran are guarantors of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow is also supporting the government forces' struggle against terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to civilians.
