Slovenian Police Detain Over 100 Migrants This Weekend

Over a hundred illegal migrants were detained in the Koper and Novo Mesto areas in Slovenia this weekend and 29 have been returned to Croatia, Slovenian police said on Monday.
Zagreb, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Sep, 2018 ) :Over a hundred illegal migrants were detained in the Koper and Novo Mesto areas in Slovenia this weekend and 29 have been returned to Croatia, Slovenian police said on Monday.
Seventy-two people, illegal migrants from Algeria, Iraq, Somalia, Syria, Afghanistan, India, Iran, Yemen, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia, were caught at Koper, southwestern Slovenia, after illegally crossing the border from Croatia.
Forty-three of them expressed their intention to apply for asylum in Slovenia, while 29 were sent back to Croatia.
Another 36 migrants, from different African and Asian countries, were discovered and detained at Novo Mesto, southeastern Slovenia, but their processing has not been completed yet.
According to Slovenian authorities, 266 foreigners currently staying in Slovenia have applied for internationalprotection
