BANGKOK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 05th March, 2019) A single-engined Fairchild AU-23 Peacemaker utility transport plane of the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) crashed while attempting an emergency landing on Tuesday in the southern Thai province of Songkhla, local media reported, adding that the incident resulted in no victims.

According to the Bangkok Post newspaper, two pilots and a flight engineer sustained minor injuries in the crash, which took place in the province's Khlong Hoi Khong district. All three were taken to a hospital.

The media outlet also reported, citing the RTAF's spokesman, that the plane crashed due to an engine problem.

The RTAF received 15 AU-23 Peacemaker aircraft from the United States in 1972. The United States used a small fleet of modified Switzerland-built Peacemaker planes in military operations during the Vietnam War.
