Ukrainian Election Commission Accepted Documents From 83 Potential Presidential Candidates

KIEV (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 03rd February, 2019) The Ukrainian Central Election Commission (CEC) has accepted documents from a total of 83 potential candidates for the Ukrainian presidency, a CEC spokesman told journalists on Sunday.
The Ukrainian presidential election is scheduled for March 31, 2019. The election campaign and the registration of candidates began on December 31.
Earlier on Sunday, incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko submitted documents to CEC for registration as a candidate in the upcoming vote.
"As of 5:45 p.m. local time on Sunday [15:45 GMT], CEC received documents from 83 people, potential candidates for the Ukrainian presidency. Twelve of them have filled their documents today," Konstantin Khivrenko said, as quoted by the Ukrainian Espresso tv channel.
Khivrenko specified that 28 candidates out of the 83 were officially registered, while 22 people were denied registration and 33 applications were still being considered.
