Ukrainian Orthodox Church Synod Urges Patriarch Bartholomew To Stop Interfering In Affairs

The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Moscow Patriarchate on Tuesday urged Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to stop interfering in the UOC internal affairs and not to violate its canonical territory, the UOC said in a statement after a Synod meeting, which took place in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra earlier in the day.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th September, 2018) The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Moscow Patriarchate on Tuesday urged Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to stop interfering in the UOC internal affairs and not to violate its canonical territory, the UOC said in a statement after a Synod meeting, which took place in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra earlier in the day.
"The UOC Synod called on Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to stop interfering in the internal affairs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and not to violate its canonical territory... The bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are ordered to suspend joint services with the hierarchs of the Patriarchate of Constantinople," the statement said.
