The Russian United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) will take part in several Indian tenders on supplies of civilian ships, USC CEO Alexey Rakhmanov said on Friday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) The Russian United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) will take part in several Indian tenders on supplies of civilian ships, USC CEO Alexey Rakhmanov said on Friday.

"In the near future, India will hold a number of tenders on supplies of around 1,500 ships and we are going to take part in some of them," Rakhmanov told the lower chamber of the Russian parliament.

In November, the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) told reporters that Moscow and New Delhi had signed a package of contracts that include supply and manufacturing of Russian Project 11356 frigates in India.

Russia and India are actively boosting bilateral cooperation in various spheres, including economy, trade and defense industry.
