US to Work With Honduras on Migration, Security Issues - Bolton

The United States will work with Honduras to boost security in that country and address the issue of migration it faces, US National Security Adviser John Bolton said in a statement on Tuesday

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th March, 2019) The United States will work with Honduras to boost security in that country and address the issue of migration it faces, US National Security Adviser John Bolton said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The US and Honduras will work closely on improving security, tackling migration, Venezuela, and new ways to foster economic growth," Bolton said via Twitter.

Earlier on Tuesday, Bolton welcomed Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez to the White House for what he called was a "productive meeting."

More than 76,000 undocumented migrants crossed into the United States without authorization in February, an 11-year high, US immigration officials reported earlier this month.

The vast majority migrants arrive to the United States from the Central America's "northern triangle," which comprises Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.
