(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th July, 2016) : After prolonged illness known Indian singer Mubarak Begum passed away on Monday night at the age of 80 years. According to Indian news agency, news of the singer's death was confirmed by his family; Mubarak Begum died on Monday at her home in Jogeshwari, she was sick for a long time.
Mubarak Begum had sung for more than 100 Indian movies between the decades since 1950 to 1970. 'Kabhi tanhaiyon mein humari yaad aye gi' and 'mujh ko apne galey sy lga lo' are one of her evergreen songs.
It is been said that the glorious era of singing style like Noor Jahan, Surayya and Shamshad Begum has reached its end after her death.
Mubarak Begum was introduced in the film industry at the age of 13 by a renowned composer Naushad Ali.
She was born in Rajasthan, but grown up in Gujarat and then moved to Mumbai. She belonged to the Kaira family of classical music where she was trained by Ustaad Samad Khan and Ustaad Riaz Uddin.
Mubarak Begum sung playback songs of two films of Dilip Kumar ' Devdas' and 'Madhumati'. She sung a song 'wo na ayen gy phir palat ky' in Devdas while 'hum haal e dil sunayen gy' in Madhumati. Though her voice has gone but still, its echoing.
