Court issues arrest warrants against Gandapur in liquor, weapon recovery case

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2025) A local court on Monday rejected the exemption from appearance request of Chief Minister KPK Ali Amin Gandapur and issued his arrest warrants in alleged liquor and illegal weapon case.

Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti's court rejected the application for exemption from the presence of KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

During the hearing, despite the court summons, Ali Amin Gandapur did not appear in court, while regarding the absence of his lawyers, Judge said that despite repeated case calls, no one appeared in court.

Ali Amin Gandapur is given the last chance until 2:30 pm to record his statement under section-342. The court, while taking a break in the hearing of the case, said that if Gandapur and his lawyer do not appear by 2:30 pm, then the right to make a statement under 342 will be terminated.

As the hearing resumed, Ali Amin Gandapur's lawyer Raja Zahoor-ul-Hassan appeared in court and filed a petition for exemption from the presence of Ali Amin Gandapur due to his busy schedule in the Senate elections. Judge Mubashir Hassan Chishti said record the statement of 342, otherwise the right will be terminated.

Lawyer Raja Zahoorul Hassan said that he undertakes that Ali Amin Gandapur will also appear in court at the next hearing and record the statement of 342. He said that 7 accused have been acquitted in this case already and Ali Amin Gandapur has also filed a petition for acquittal, which has not been decided yet.

Judge Mubashir Hassan Chishti said that Gandapur had stood up in court and assured to record the statement of 342. The date was also given with his consent. The lawyer said that the Peshawar High Court has also granted bail to Ali Amin Gandapur in all cases. A date should be given. The statement of 342 will be recorded at the next hearing, on which Judge said that you give your applications and we will order it in a while.

Later, the court rejected Ali Amin Gandapur's application for exemption from attendance and issued an arrest warrant for him. The police was ordered to arrest him and present before the court.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case until July 22. A case has been registered against Ali Amin Gandapur at Bhara Kahu police station for alleged recovery of liquor and illegal weapons.
