
DC Reviews Security Arrangements For 25th Muharram Procession

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2025) Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Muhammad Waseem chaired on Friday a meeting to review security and administrative arrangements for the mourning procession scheduled on the 25th of Muharram, marking the martyrdom day of Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (RA).
The procession would start from Block No. 7 and culminate at Imambargah Block No. 19, following its designated route.
During the meeting, the DC directed all relevant departments to maintain the same level of discipline and security as observed during Ashura.
To ensure foolproof security, the deployment of police personnel, installation of CCTV cameras, and strict checking at entry and exit points were emphasized while the involvement of volunteers in assisting the security forces was also discussed.
The DC also instructed that stalls for drinking water (sabeels) and medical camps be set up along the route.
Sanitation, proper lighting, and effective drainage arrangements would be prioritized to avoid any inconvenience to the mourners.
He further directed police and civil administration to coordinate through a joint strategy to strictly enforce time management.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Fahad Mahmood, SE FESCO Abrar Khan, Assistant Commissioner Shehry Gul, and representatives from Civil Defense, SWMC, Health Department, Rescue 1122, Police, and other concerned departments.
The Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Waseem assured that the district administration would provide all necessary facilities to the mourners and would utilize all available resources to ensure the peaceful conduct of the procession.
