'Mera Pyara' App helps reunite girl with family

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2025) A 15-year-old girl on Wednesday successfully reunited with her family after being under the care of the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Lahore for three years.

According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority(PSCA),the reunion of missing girl Zainab was made possible through the Punjab Police Public App,Mera Pyara, which connects missing persons with their families.

Zainab had fled her employer's home in Sheikhupura due to ongoing abuse and was found by a local police officer and later he transferred her to the CPWB Lahore for safety and care.

The Mera Pyara team worked tirelessly to regain Zainab’s trust,gather information and ultimately locate her family.

As part of a nationwide initiative,the Safe Cities Authority was linking data from welfare organizations to the central Mera Pyara database.

In the first phase,data from over 200 welfare institutions across Punjab has already been incorporated into the system.The database now also includes records of more than 1,400 unclaimed individuals from various organizations.

The spokesperson confirmed that the Mera Pyara team was continuing its efforts to locate missing children and reunite them with their parents or legal guardians. For more information,please contact the Punjab Safe Cities Authority.
