PARIS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th November, 2018) About 1,500 people on Sunday took part in the rally, organized by the "Paris Against Trump" and "Stop the War" groups, protesting US President Donald Trump's presence at the WWI end commemoration ceremony in Paris.
Supporters of the "Trump Means War" movement gathered at Place de la Republique on Sunday to protest against Trump's participation in the city's WWI centennial commemoration.
The protesters carrying banners "Make America Great Again: Resign," "Mister Hate, Leave Europe," "No Justice, No Peace" or "Melania, Blink Twice For Help" launched a "baby Trump" balloon in the air.
The organizers of the manifestation initially asked the authorities for a permit to march through the streets, but the police refused over fear that black bloc protesters might provoke clashes, as they have done in the past, the Paris prefecture said in a press release.
