Bogdanov Holds Talks On Situation In Middle East With French Lawmaker - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 04th April, 2019) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov on Thursday met with Marielle de Sarnez, the chairwoman of the French lower house Foreign Affairs Commission, to discuss the situation in the middle Eastern region, Russia's Foreign Ministry said.
"On April 4, a meeting was held at the Russian Foreign Ministry between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East M.L. Bogdanov and the chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the French National Assembly, M. de Sarnez ... During the conversation, an in-depth exchange of views took place on various aspects of developments in the regions of Middle East and North Africa," the ministry's statement read.
The sides paid special attention to the crisis in Syria with Moscow reaffirming its commitment to the prompt settlement of the crisis on the basis of agreements reached at the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi as well as the UN Security Council Resolution 2254.
Earlier in the day, de Sarnez also met with Leonid Slutsky, the head of the Russian State Duma's International Affairs Committee, and spoke in favor of deepening the dialogue with Russia.
