Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church Suspends Full Communion With Constantinople - Synod

The Holy Synod of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Moscow Patriarchate decided on Tuesday to suspend full communion with the Constantinople Patriarchate due to its activities in Ukraine.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th November, 2018) The Holy Synod of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Moscow Patriarchate decided on Tuesday to suspend full communion with the Constantinople Patriarchate due to its activities in Ukraine.

"Taking into account the destructive activities and gross violation of canons by the Constantinople Patriarchate, the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church must suspend full communion with the clergy of the Constantinople Patriarchate, and the laity [must suspend] participation in sacraments performed in churches of the Patriarchate of Constantinople," the UOC Synod said.
