Death Toll From Kabul Blast Grows To 55 People, 94 More Injured - Afghan Heath Ministry

KABUL (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st November, 2018) The number of deaths from a bomb attack on a religious gathering in Kabul on Tuesday has reached 55, while another 94 people were injured, Afghanistan's Health Ministry said Wednesday in a statement obtained by Sputnik.

The authorities said earlier the death toll stood at 50 people, with 72 others injured.

"According to the latest data, the death toll in the attack on the wedding hall increased to 55 people, 94 injured," the statement by the ministry's spokesperson, Wahid Majrooh, reads.

A bomb went off inside a banquet hall in the Afghan capital when people gathered to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. There were at least 1,000 people inside the building, according to media reports.
