Denmark and France have recognized Venezuelan opposition parliament speaker Juan Guaido as the country's interim president

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 04th February, 2019) Denmark and France have recognized Venezuelan opposition parliament speaker Juan Guaido as the country's interim president.

"Denmark recognises the President of the National Assembly @jguaido as the interim President of #Venezuela until new free and democratic elections take place.

Applaud similar statements from key EU partners. Important EU statement coming up," Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen said on Twitter.

French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted: "The people of Venezuela have the right to express their opinions freely and democratically. France recognizes Juan Guaido as 'interim president' who will launch the electoral process."
