RIO DE JANEIRO, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th August, 2016) - The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced Tuesday it had reinsated the Beijing laboratory that had been suspended from anti-doping analyses since April for failing to meet procedural standards.
In a statement issued from WADA's Montreal headquarters, WADA director general Olivier Niggli said the anti-doping body was pleased to confirm the lab's accreditation had been reinstated "just ahead of the maximum four-month suspension that was issued in April". "We are confident that the laboratory has corrected its deficiencies and, will now be operating to the high standards required by WADA," Niggli said. During the period of suspension, the laboratory was required to take five remedial steps highlighted by WADA's disciplinary committee in its recommendation and also to address problems found in various lab operations.
