ANKARA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th April, 2019) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed on Friday the Turkish-German bilateral relations in phone talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the Turkish presidential administration said in a statement.

"Our president held today phone talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel. During the conversation, he expressed condolences over the death of her mother. The sides have also exchanged opinions about bilateral relations," the statement said.

According to German government spokesman Steffen Seibert, Merkel's mother, Herlind Kasner, died in early April at the age of 90.
