MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th March, 2019) The European Union urged Palestinian militants to stop any violent actions and provocations after recent missile attacks against Israel, spokeswoman for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Maja Kocijancic said in a statement.
"Rocket attacks from Gaza and any other violent actions or provocations by Palestinian militants in Gaza must stop immediately. The European Union reiterates its fundamental commitment to the security of Israel. In the wake of the Israeli reaction, the first priority for all must now be for de-escalation and maximum restraint, in order to re-establish calm and to protect the lives of Israeli and Palestinian civilians," the statement published on Monday reads.
On Monday morning, the Israeli officials said that at least seven people had been injured in central Israel, north of Tel Aviv, as a result of the rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. Following the aerial raid, alarms sounded in central Israel. In response to the attack, the Israel Defense Forces started attacking Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
