First Int'l Congress On Sports Law Kicks Off In Tehran

The first International Congress on Sports Law kicked off with sport lawyers in attendance in Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday

TEHRAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jan, 2019 ) :The first International Congress on Sports Law kicked off with sport lawyers in attendance in Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday .

The two-day International Congress on Sports Law is being held on the initiative of National Olympic Committee of Iran and cooperation of Women in Sports Law (WISLAW).

Iranian woman Parand Azizi, also a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) told the Islamic Republic news Agency (IRNA) that presence of members of the CAS and Women in Sports Law (WISLAW) in Tehran was a turning point in Iran's sports history.

Azizi said the presence of top sports women in Tehran would help develop sports law in the country.

The WISLAW is an association registered in Switzerland in 2016 with its members as referees and legal advisers of the International Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

A number of workshops will be held on subjects including human rights and sports, media law countering doping in sports, IRNA said.
