German Die Linke Party Opposes Any Possible US', Allies' Military Operation In Venezuela

Germany's Die Linke party is against a potential military intervention in Venezuela by the United States or its EU allies, and believes that the political crisis in the country should be settled peacefully, Alexander Neu, the party's spokesman in the Bundestag Defense Committee, told Sputnik on Wednesday
"There must be no military intervention by the US and its EU/NATO allies! ... A peaceful political process in Venezuela must be maintained," Neu said.
The German lawmaker stressed that the constitutional order of the country should not be questioned from outside.
"In this context, it is also to be welcomed that Russia, China and India have clearly opposed violence, but emphasized the principle of non-interference," Neu said.
The foreign ministers of the three countries met earlier on Wednesday to discuss several bilateral and international issues. They reaffirmed their opposition to the military intervention in Venezuela, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said after the meeting.
The European Union has stressed that it is against a military escalation in the crisis-hit country.
Meanwhile, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said earlier this week that the movement of US forces in the region suggested that Pentagon was considering a military operation to oust President Nicolas Maduro.
Tensions escalated in Venezuela in January, when opposition leader Juan Guaido proclaimed himself the country's "interim president." His leadership has been recognized by the United States and about 50 other countries. Maduro has accused Guaido of attempting to stage a coup and called him a US "puppet."
Russia, China and several other states have backed Maduro as the legitimate president, while Mexico and Uruguay have declared themselves neutral and urged for dialogue.
