KHABAROVSK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th January, 2019) This year's joint military exercise by Russian and Indian troops will be hosted by India, with the place and time still to be decided, the Russian military said Wednesday.
"The joint Russian-Indian military exercise, Indra 2019, is planned to be hosted by an Indian polygon.
The time, place, as well as troop and equipment composition remain to be agreed on with India during preparation consultations," the press office for the Eastern Military District said.
Last year's edition was held in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It involved 500 personnel on both sides. Russia sent armored, mechanized infantry and reconnaissance units. In 2019, the Russian Defense Ministry hopes to expand the drills to include ground troops, navy and aviation.
