Indian Coast Guard On High Alert Along Maritime Border With Sri Lanka - Reports

The Indian Coast Guard has been put on high alert along the maritime border with Sri Lanka following a series of blast in the island nation, local media reported on Monday citing Coast Guard sources
The Dornier Do 228 maritime surveillance aircraft and ships have been deployed by India along the border with Sri Lanka in order to prevent attempts by Sri Lankan extremists, responsible for the wave of attacks, to escape the country, the ANI news agency reported.
On Easter Sunday, Sri Lanka was shaken by a series of coordinated attacks, which killed at least 290 people. These are the worst attacks in the country's modern history since the end the 25-year-old civil war as at least 290 people have been killed people, while 500 have been injured.
Earlier on Monday, local media reported about an explosion near St. Anthony's church in Colombo.
Colombo has launched a massive security operation in the wake of the tragedy. As of Monday, at least 24 people were detained in connection with the attacks. The authorities introduced and re-introduced curfew and deployed extra 1,000 troops in the capital.
Moreover, Interpol announced on Monday that it would deploy a special team to Sri Lanka to investigate the waves of deadly bombings.
