Israel Pledges To Continue Countering Iran's Military Presence In Syria - Defense Forces

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd September, 2018) The Israeli military will proceed with its operations aimed at countering Iran's military presence in Syria and the Islamic republic's attempts to deliver arms to Lebanon's Hezbollah movement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reiterated, during a briefing on circumstance of the Il-20 incident, that blame for the Russian aircraft's crash fully rested with Israel, which put the Il-20 under fire of the Syrian air defense.
"The IDF will continue to operate in accordance with the directives of the Israeli Government against Iran's incessant attempts to establish itself in Syria and to arm the terrorist organization Hezbollah with lethal and accurate weapons," the IDF said on its Twitter blog.
The IDF added that the cooperation with the Russian party has proven to be efficient numerous times over the past years.
"The continuation of the coordination is a shared interest in light of the various regional challenges," the IDF stressed.
