Kazakh Security Services Arrest Group Of Terrorist Plotters From Central Asia - Statement

ALMATY (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th January, 2019) A group of foreign nationals from Central Asia has been detained earlier in January in Almaty on suspicions of organizing terrorist attacks, the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan said Monday.
"On January 10, 2019, during a special operation in Almaty, the National Security Committee detained a group of foreign citizens from Central Asia suspected of preparing terrorist attacks in Kazakhstan," the statement read, adding that the plotters were possibly affiliates of Islamic State terror group (banned in Russia).
The security services seized weapons, explosives and ammunition during a search of the suspects' temporary residence, the statement added.
