Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday that US claims that Moscow allegedly dissuaded Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from leaving Venezuela were not true
The minister was referring to the statement issued by US State Secretary Mike Pompeo on Tuesday, claiming that Maduro was ready to leave his country for Cuba in light of an attempted coup, but was convinced by Moscow to stay in Venezuela.
"You know, if you review everything that officials in the US administration say about Venezuela, then endless questions will arise. And all these questions will usually have one answer this is not true," Lavrov told reporters.
