Moscow believes that the issue of renaming Macedonia should be considered in the UN Security Council, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Monday
"Russia's position on the issue of the Macedonian state name remains unchanged: a sustainable solution must be found without external pressure or imposition of terms and conditions from outside, while relying on broad public support - both in the Republic of Macedonia and in Greece - and exclusively within the legal framework.
We presume that this issue should be considered by the UN Security Council in accordance with Clause 3 of UN Security Council Resolution 845," the ministry said.
