DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th September, 2018) Militants shelled civilians in the humanitarian corridor of Abu Dhuhur in the Syrian province of Idlib, a Syrian military source told Sputnik on Monday.
"Militants shelled civilians that were leaving Abu Dhuhur humanitarian corridor, they were intending to put a temporary stop to the civilians leaving," the source said.
According to the source, there has been no information on the number of victims.
Last week, Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Recep Tayyip Ergogan of Turkey agreed to set up a demilitarized zone in Idlib by October 15. The armed conflict has been ongoing in Syria since 2011, but last year the focus has shifted from fighting terrorists to a political settlement.
