MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th September, 2018) Moldovan President Igor Dodon said on Tuesday that he would meet with Russian President's Special Representative for Moldova Dmitry Kozak in Moscow on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, Dodon held a working meeting with the Russian ambassador in Chisinau, Oleg Vasnetsov.
"We discussed the details of the working meeting of the president of the Republic of Moldova scheduled for September 26 with the Russian president's special representative for development of trade and economic relations with Moldova, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak," Dodon wrote on Facebook.
Dodon said he had discussed with Vasnetsov urgent issues of Moldova's domestic politics.
"In addition, I informed the Russian ambassador about the upcoming trip to Dushanbe, where a regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State will be held on September 27-28.
A number of bilateral working meetings with some leaders of the commonwealth states will be held on the sidelines of the summit," the Moldovan leader added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Kozak as his special representative for the development of trade and economic relations with Moldova on July 11.
Dodon took office as president of Moldova on December 23, 2016. According to his election program, he intended to restore the strategic partnership with Russia, return Moldovan products to the Russian market and normalize cooperation in the energy sector. He repeatedly stated that "it is vital for Moldova to restore relations with Russia."
