Moscow Calls On France To Ensure Safety Of Journalists Amid 'Yellow Vest' Protests

Moscow is calling on Paris to abstain from excessive use of force and ensure the safety of journalists during the so-called yellow vest demonstrations protesting fuel tax hikes in France, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 05th December, 2018) Moscow is calling on Paris to abstain from excessive use of force and ensure the safety of journalists during the so-called yellow vest demonstrations protesting fuel tax hikes in France, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.
Saturday's "yellow vest" demonstrations in Paris were accompanied by violent clashes between police and protesters torching cars and looting shops. As a result, over 100 people were injured, including 12 journalists of the RT broadcaster.
"We call on Paris to avoid the excessive use of force, as well as to abstain from using force against journalists ... We ask France to ensure full safety of journalists," Zakharova said at a briefing.
