New US Sanctions Target Venezuelan TV Company Globovision - Treasury

The United States has imposed sanctions on a US-registered Venezuelan television company, the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 08th January, 2019) The United States has imposed sanctions on a US-registered Venezuelan television company, the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said on Tuesday.

"The following companies were designated or blocked today for being owned or controlled by the aforementioned individuals .

.. Globovision Tele CA, Corp. is registered in Miami, Florida," OFAC said in a statement.

The Treasury notice gave companies that do business with Globovision until January 8, 2020 to wind down their dealings with the television broadcaster, which is run by Raul Gorrin, who was also designated in Tuesday's action.
