Over 20 Terror Organizations Operating In Afghanistan - Russian Security Council

Over 20 terror organizations are currently operating in Afghanistan, including along the Afghanistan-Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) border, and over 50 percent of the country's territory is not controlled by the Afghan government, Alexander Venediktov, an aide to the Russian Security Council secretary, said in an interview with Sputnik.

"The situation in the country is degrading. The government fails to control already over one half of the country's territory. Tensions between ethnic groups are escalating. Against this background, terrorism raises its head. Over 20 terror organizations are currently operating in Afghanistan, including along the CIS borders," Venediktov said.
