Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in phone talks on Thursday the current crisis in relations between India and Pakistan in the context of the fight against international terrorism, the Kremlin press service reported

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 28th February, 2019) Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in phone talks on Thursday the current crisis in relations between India and Pakistan in the context of the fight against international terrorism, the Kremlin press service reported.

According to the press service, Putin once again expressed condolences in connection with the terrorist attack on the Indian military on February 14.

"In this regard, the leaders condemned international terrorism and any form of its support, and stressed the need to step up the uncompromising fight against the terrorist threat," the press service said in a statement.

"While discussing the crisis situation in relations between India and Pakistan, Putin expressed hope for its quick settlement," the statement said.

According to the document, both leaders expressed interest in further strengthening of cooperation in all areas, including military-technical ties.

Putin invited Modi to take part as a main guest at the 5th Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held on September 4-6, 2019 in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok, the press service said.
