Rosatom Subsidiary Signs Deal On Supplying Nuclear Fuel Components For Egypt's Reactor

Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom's subsidiary TVEL and the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority struck a contract on Monday, under which the former will supply uranium components of low-enriched nuclear fuel for the Arab republic's ETRR-2 research reactor, the Russian company said
SOCHI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th April, 2019) Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom's subsidiary TVEL and the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority struck a contract on Monday, under which the former will supply uranium components of low-enriched nuclear fuel for the Arab republic's ETRR-2 research reactor, the Russian company said.
"TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom and the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority signed the contract for supply of uranium-made components of reduced-enrichment nuclear fuel for ETRR-2 research reactor in Egypt," the company said in a press release.
According to the TVEL Fuel Company, the fuel components will be produced by its subsidiary, Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant, and will be used for manufacturing nuclear fuel for the ETRR-2 reactor at Egypt's Nuclear Research Center in Inshas.
The company noted that the reactor was involved in research in particle physics, materials engineering and production of stable isotopes.
The contract was signed on the sidelines of the 11th Atomexpo 2019 International Forum, which began in the Russian resort city of Sochi earlier on Monday.
