Russia's Roscosmos commission will carry out an inspection at Space Rocket Centre Progress where Soyuz-FG rocket was produced, following the launch accident earlier in the day, a space industry source told Sputnik on Thursday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th October, 2018) Russia's Roscosmos commission will carry out an inspection at Space Rocket Centre Progress where Soyuz-FG rocket was produced, following the launch accident earlier in the day, a space industry source told Sputnik on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, a carrier accident occurred during the launch of Soyuz-FG launch vehicle with Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft with two new members of the International Space Station crew on board, a Russian cosmonaut and a US astronaut. The crew have landed, both are alive and well.

"The commission from Roscosmos will carry out an inspection at the Progress Rocket Space Centre in [the Russian city of] Samara where Soyuz-FG was produced, all the five similar rockets will be checked as well," the source said.
