MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 09th January, 2019) Deputy head of Russian space corporation Roscosmos Sergey Savelyev and his NASA counterpart, Al Condes, will hold a teleconference in the near future to discuss NASA's recent decision to revoke Roscosmos Director General Dmirtry Rogozin's invitation to visit the United States, the Russian space agency's press service told Sputnik on Wednesday.
On Sunday, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said he had canceled Rogozin's invitation because he wanted to accommodate the interests of US senators.
"In the near future, deputy head of the Roscosmos state corporation S.
V. Savelyev and NASA Associate Administrator A. Condes are planning to hold a teleconference," the press service said.
According to Roscosmos, Rogozin received an invitation from NASA in December to visit the NASA headquarters in Washington, Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas and Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Last week, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen urged NASA to withdraw Rogozin's invitation due to the fact that he was sanctioned by the US government over the Ukraine crisis.
