Russia, Egypt To Hold Joint Drills Of Air Defense Forces In Fall - Spokesman

Russian and Egyptian air defense forces will hold joint drills dubbed Friendship Arrow-2019 in late October - early November for the first time, Russian Southern Military District spokesman, Col. Vadim Astafyev, told reporters on Monday
"Representatives of the command of the Southern Military District took part in the planning conference on the preparation of the first joint Russian-Egyptian exercises of air defense forces Friendship Arrow-2019. The servicemen of the two countries discussed the preparations and conduct of the joint drills and the composition of the forces involved," Astafyev said.
The exercises are held to exchange experience, as well as to develop military and defense industry cooperation between the two countries. About 100 servicemen of Russia's 4th Air and Air Defense Forces Army will be involved in the drills.
