Russia can become a mediator in the crisis settlement in the Central African Republic (CAR) and a guarantor for agreements between the country's government and opposition, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni told Sputnik in an interview.
KAMPALA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th October, 2018) Russia can become a mediator in the crisis settlement in the Central African Republic (CAR) and a guarantor for agreements between the country's government and opposition, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni told Sputnik in an interview.
"Yes, they can because they are not a part of the local problems, of the mistakes.
They are new on the scene, and this neutrality gives them credibility," Museveni said, when asked about the possibility of Russia acting as a mediator in the car settlement.
According to the Ugandan president, "a lot of mistakes" have been made in the Central African Republic.
"The current situation is a consequence of some people making mistakes, some players inside and outside. Therefore Russia as new force will be very useful, I think," Museveni noted.
